Do you know that feeling when you’re driving out in the middle of nowhere and you turn a corner and suddenly you realize that you’re headed West? It feels like the sky shifts towards you, the pavement smooths out, and there’s just road, land, and sky for miles.

And for a little bit, that’s all you need.

That’s my favorite feeling, being headed out west. It’s a direction of change, of new frontiers, of the unknown, and of a different kind of freedom. It’s across the plains, over the Rockies, out to sea, out west. Regardless of whether I’m at the foot of the Front Range or on the other side, there’s nothing I love more than knowing I’m headed in that direction, onto something new by way of something old.

Are you with me?
